BAUCHI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY HAS APPEALED FOR THE PROVISION OF PARKING SPACE FOR HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS

Bauchi State House of Assembly has appealed to the government to provide land at the outskirts of the State capital to serve as a parking space or garage for heavy trucks conveying large products.

This is contained in a motion sponsored by member representing Bauchi Central, Jamilu Umaru Dahiru during plenary presided over by the Speaker Abubakar Sulaiman.

Jamilu Dahiru who is also the Deputy Speaker of the house, noted that such vehicles are causing serious damages to roads in the state capital and create unnecessary congestion especially around the markets places causing accident, leading to lost of lives and rendered others injured.

Still during the plenary member representing Dambam/Dagauda/Jalam Constituency Ahmed Garba Mohammed has presented a motion calling on the state govt to construct drainage system in his constituency to ensure free flow of water.

He said the move became necessary considering the fact that heavy downpour in the area has destroyed lands and properties worth millions of naira as well as washed away many roads which prevented human and vehicular movements in the area.

In another development, member representing Zungur/Galambi constituency Yusuf Sa’idu Ahmad has called on the executive arm of Government to rehabilitate and make effective use of the abandoned school at Yuguda town in Bauchi local govt area.

In his presentation, the lawmaker revealed that the school was constructed with enough classes and staff quarters but later abandoned despite millions of naira spend on the project.
